SSD VS HDD
For Photographers
I use SSD's (Solid State Drives) for active projects because they are generally faster by nature. It is compact and easy to bring with you. But the faster and higher storage you get the more expensive, so it is hard to balance between speed, storage and price. I find that about 2-4TB across multiple SSD's has not interrupted my work flow.
My HDD is 24TB is is purely precautionary and long term storage, it is a lot of storage but it is very slow and would not be optimal for editing. It is also as compact and easy to carry around as it needs power. Those 24TB will probably end up holding 5+ years of work long term.
